Leadership Style, Village Officials' PerformanceAbstract
This study aims to determine and describe the Leadership Style of the Village Head in Improving the Performance of village officials at the Datai Nirui Village Office, Teweh Tengah District, North Barito Regency so far. The research results based on the results of interviews and analysis of performance indicators, the leadership style of the Datai Nirui Village Head has tended to be arbitrary. The Village Head works more alone and is rarely present in the office, which has an impact on the low productivity of village officials. The uncoordinated division of tasks and the lack of communication between the Village Head and village officials have caused the quality of services to the community to be disrupted, responsiveness to problems to be slow and accountability of village officials to be poorly managed. In this leadership style, the Village Head tends to make unilateral decisions and reduce the participation of village officials, which affects the low initiative and sense of responsibility among village officials. The Village Head of Datai Nirui should adopt a democratic leadership style, which always involves all decision-making, provides autonomy in carrying out tasks, and creates more open communication. The democratic leadership style will empower village officials to collaborate and take initiative, so that it will ultimately improve performance.
