This study aims to examine the implementation of management in improving student (santri) development at Pondok Pesantren Yasin Muara Teweh. The research method applied is descriptive qualitative with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The entire population of 71 individuals, consisting of teachers, supervisors, and students, was used as the research sample. The results indicate that the application of management functions, including planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling, has been carried out but not yet fully optimized. Planning is implemented through short-, medium-, and long-term work programs. Organizing is evident in the division of tasks and responsibilities among teachers and supervisors. The actuating function is carried out through motivation and regular coaching, while controlling is done through performance evaluation of students and supervisors. Challenges encountered include limited facilities and infrastructure, lack of qualified teaching staff, and low student participation in Islamic extracurricular activities. Thus, the proper application of management plays an important role in improving the quality of student development, although improvements are still needed in facilities, curriculum, and student discipline.
